Rubber strip in rear bumper

Hi all, has anyone successfully removed the rubber strip from the rear bumber on an early chimaera? I think I remember reading somewhere that it's not really removable without destroying it. Just repainting at the Mo and want to remove as much as I can to get the best results. Also would like to lift the rear hood section if anyone has any pointers on how this is done cheers.

Few screws and its out.



That should show you the locations on the car. Just pull back the carpet and they'll become apparent.

Rear of hood is screwed on from inside boot above petrol tank , up inside the groove , five or six screws .

Thanks, I've just undone all that and to my relief it wasn't siliconed down. Door opening buttons removed and the plastic rings surrounding them just got to remove the boot hinges then there is nothing more to take off for the respray.
It's going to a local boat builder/ fibreglass expert tomorrow to have a repair done at the top of the boot lip where the lid closes down on to. It looks like when the body was layed in the mould they had an air pocket in the gell along the top edge and it's just been filled with filler which has cracked so it will be ground out and filled with something more suitable. Quite enjoying tidying up all these little flaws that have bugged me scince a got the car.
