You need this, AUTAN repellant.

I had 26 bites the first night in Alicante, (my wife had none!)!

Used Autan and never had another…...

South of France is not a Malarial area so no problem on that front.

Malaria Map:

I take Malaria tablets when I go to Africa and that messes up the blood donating as you have to be back 6months before you can donate again.

That said they can cause a bit of a reaction in some people because of the saliva they inject when they 'bite', sounds like you're one of them.

Great info,, I went to the chemist on the first day here and this is what I was given?

Do you get bitten I asked, no came the reply,,,,why me then,,,,cos your toast beef biggrin
I hear them buzzing about my head at night in bed,, jump up faster than a cat and get fight fantastic with them but their proper quick
Son of a bh!

The chemist is only round the corner I'll go back now see what else they can give me,,,thanks lads,,,
I keep thinking it's because I'm concentrating so much and for so long on the bike!
I'm drinking loads of water and such,,,I don't sweat when riding but the moment you stop to take a photo or at lights etc,,the heat from the air cooled motor,,, leathers on, sun on your back etc.
it's pretty intense,,, I also have weak eyes to bright sun light,,ever since a lad,, wear sun glasses and a hat but it's very bright!

That's a bit of a relief,,,ta

Dehydration?

You need more water there, not beer & wine!

I'd agree with the water thing....my family always nag me when we're in hot climates. Works too! Driving from Munich to Verdun mid-August in the Tuscan, I stopped every 1-2 hours for a stretch of the legs and to get water/sports drink and found I didn't get the headache. It was so hot I had to keep the roof ON...blistering sun with temps in mid 30's.

Nick

Edit: Forgot to add, we need photos of the French cuties!!

Leave it out Nick biggrin the woman in the Chemist,,,my age ish she wears these tiny thin pastrel dresses,,, not an ounce of fat on her,, yet still firm and sporty looking,,,shapely and perfect upward pointing breasts,, how do they do it that's what I wanna know.
I've considered maybe they knock the ugly ones on the head at birth!!!
How come even the mums with a good few kids have tight pert little wastes and bums,,
I had a French girl once,,, she and her mum used to get drunk and both get horny about me,,, why the hell I didn't have the pair of them I don't now know,,,
My French girl made blow jobs look like a form of art biggrin
I wish you hadn't started me off,,, one Christmas we all got merry,,,
This is fking bonkers stuff,,, her mum was fit,, really fit and her boobs hadn't dropped a jot,,,
She's merry,,,sat on my lap after dinner and literally puts her right boob on my face,,,rubbing it around,,,
What was wrong with me,,,I didn't do a thing,,,at my age now I just think what a divvy for not pulling her shirt off,,,hahahah,
Her daughter was perfect that's why,,,,;)

Pictures,,,,,,I'm not working for Paul Raymond you know hehe
I'm over here trying to win friends and influence people,,,don't fancy getting chased out of town,,,,
I reckon I could pull here all day long,,,show them a little gentile and a soft warm shy voice,, your in,,,, hahahah
One woman at campsite has long sexy smooth legs,, stunner,,, I'd have asked her to dinner but she's the bosses missus,,,
Gutted!
But there's another woman,, she likes me,,,hot little slim dark haired lovely shaped babe,,,lived in the states, Paris for 15 years and I told her I'd been to Le Plan De la Tour yesterday,,, she's all touchy feely and gave me this look,,,I live there she says,,,,she advised me which restaurant to eat at,,,it's the very one I say down at,,,,
I showed her the business card I picked up,,,,she thinks I got syle baby,,,,
She lives there,,, well so will I if I get half a chance, I'm going to ask her out,,,,
I'll think better of it by the morning but hey,,,,
The women are the best around all things considered,,,here's another odd coincidence, my French girlfriend 15 years ago was named Geraldine,,,it's her god damn name too????!!!!!

Maybe it's the nudist beach that's put me off,,,,sounds great don't it,,,
I saw things there that would shock a blind man,,,old folks convention maybe yikes
I left sharpish,,,, biggrin
The problem is,,,I came here to ride my motorbike with no distractions,,
I can see it now,,,
French accent,,,ohhh Alaaaan,,,come to bed with me now,,, get lost I'm off out for another sort of ride love!!!
,,,
See I told you to leave it out man,,, ,,,
My headaches gone,,,,hehe

Alun, you paint a picture and cheer up another rainy, dreary day!

From this end, the funniest thing that has happened was just now.

Waiting for the kettle to boil, Jack Russell under my feet so I gave him a dried pigs ear, (dog owners will understand) to keep his jaws clenched.
I then spun him round and round on his back on the shiny kitchen floor until he jumped up and ran into the wall!

I almost fell over laughing, in fact i'm laughing as I type laugh

Anyhow, that's what we do back in old blighty when it's raining while your enjoying yourself in the sun wink

Oi, I take offence to being called a "builder type"!

Contracts lounger, err manager if you please.

Right, I'm fed up here and going into the garage to replace my worn rear pads and check the old girl over after the last few TDs.

I was one of them builder types and I'm very proud of it,,,
Hang on Peter ,,your a suit ain't ya,,,hahahah
I was working on Empress state building next door to Earls court,,,
It was winter 5 ish in the evening and dark and cold,,,me and the window boys are on the roof,,30 floors up,,,
We'd had enough so were all standing about chatting,,,must of been at least 12 of us up there,,
Oh bugger this new hi vis costed college kid/manager with shiny shoes walks out to have a look,,,we give him some tough looks as if to say you say a word and you'll get it,,,, he's a clever boy and only came up to see how frightening it looks without a hand rail,,,( we'd has a section removed because the tower crane couldn't lift the glass stillages over it,,,we were using land lines so we were safe,,,ish,) anyway this 24 year old something comes over and says it's ok lads I just wanted to have a look over London,,, we think he's ok so help him get close to the edge,,,
After a couple of minutes he's freezing and asks which was the quickest way back down,, just being friendly,,
Jimmy Pie,,, this old bloke,, sharpe as a knife and so funny everytime he opens his mouth just says close your eyes and walk that way pointing to the bare edge with no rail,,,12 blokes crack up laughing,,
It doesn't seem so funny writing it but that lads face was a picture,, he thought he really meant it,,,he was already frightened out his wits,, it's windy up there as I'm sure you know,,, I just thought,, were fked now he'll go and grass on us!
After a moment he got the joke,,, under the curcumstances of the work we were doing it was welcome relief,,
So funny I'll never forget it.
Just to confirm that building was originally 28 floors high,,,
It's now 30 and the top two floors revolve 360 degrees

Just steels when we were struggling up there,,, the builder was way behind and so we did the curtain walling before the floors were layed,, hardcore men!

I had a great crac to be honest.
