wiper position

Hi all. Quick question. When using my wipers and the screen dries out the blades stop about 2/3 inches from the fully parked position. They are easy to push down bit ok when wet enough. Is this normal or am I looking at a new motor? Thanks

It depends on model year. Later cars have a different wiper design and they park much better. On my '99 they park virtually flat.

Mines a 1996 so imagine it's the early er type.

Even with a new wiper motor you arent supposed to use them on a dry screen.
