Waterless Coolant

I was watching an episode of Wheeler Dealers the other night - OK I've outed myself - the one with the red TR6.

As part of the "doing up" process Ed used waterless coolant, claiming it was good to -40 deg. and didn't boil until 180 deg.
It wasn't cheap at about £90 from memory, and probably more for us due to the extra capacity, but has anyone used this.

Given some of the heating problems people experience this could be a useful addition.

There has been some opinions on this, and deffo some lengthy and passionate debates to say the least.

I use this in a 2ltr MGB which works really well, but keep the stock water/antifreeze mix in the Healey and Chim. Is a great product, but no substitute for a well maintained cooling system.

Of the pages of debate this seems to be the most important thing.

If the cooling system is working properly then you can consider the advantages of [effectively having] a pressureless system and start weighing up the cost/benefit etc...

Even though it sounds a good idea i would hate to see £90 puked all over the floor if a leak occurs!

Yep I run it, main reason was I wanted maximum cooling as running high bhp, yes it's not cheap , works well and happy with it
