It seems pointless. If you drive with it on, the sun will bake you through the heat coming in. If it's just to keep dust out or for security when parked, put the proper one on.

I suppose it may be a lot lighter than the full roof though.

I hate driving my car with the roof on as it feels dark and confined. perhaps this keeps the cabin lighter with the perspex roof on.
