...mobile phone holder in their Chimaera?
For the life of me I can't find a clear space on the dashboard, and I need a full view of my phone because it has my GPS system on it.
The only thing I can think of is a holder with a suction pad to go on the windscreen - does anybody know where I can get one of these that would fit (its a P900 but fits in most 'generic' holders)?
Otherwise, has anybody come up with a solution to mount it on the dashboard that doesn't cause any lasting damage and doesn't obscure the view out of the windscreen too much?

Hi,
I've got one of the suction things with the bendy connector to hold my PDA.
Instead of attaching it to the windscreen, I couldn't find a place where it didn't obstruct my view, I fitted the small disc to the underside of the dash on the passenger side.
I attach the suction end to the disk and bend the connector 90 degrees or so and I can see my PDA from the drivers seat and with the added bonus that I can see out of the window

LOL, that reminds of when I was having my SatNav installed. I asked the guys if I could have the voice command unit installed too, but they said it would be useless as the car's too load, and the unit/mic would have massive probs in hearing my voice commands! hey ho!

I've had car kits in the Chimaera for years. Works perfectly with roof on, iffy with roof off. Have had a number of special brackets for the cradle which either slide behind padding on tranmission tunnel, or into groove on dash.
A bit of perspex from a model shop, a Dremel multitool, a lighterfluid powered heat torch, and you're there! All you'd need to do would be to find a suitable piece of upholstery to peel back. Just purchase a 2nd hand mount for the phone from Ebay, and screw that mount to your perspex.
