Evening chaps, I'm off to France early doors tomorrow, just a little 1000 mile jaunt down to St Maxime in the Tvr 
I'll monitor fuel consumption and see what sort of cruise figures I can achieve!
4.6 engine, Mbe Ecu and a confirmed 300bhp and 340 ft lbs at the wheels........
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what might be achieved per gallon (4.4 litres) at say 80 mph average speed?
I've packed tools etc, let's hope the car runs fine,, I can't wait.
I'm leaving home 2am to catch a very early ferry.

On our blats down to south of France at high speed MPG actually improved with speed
About 15 years ago the police wouldn't trouble you too much on the peage....it's definitely different now!

1000 miles in one day,,, the Tvr's working well.
I've not worked out the fuel used yet but I did the last 155 miles on less than half a tank of gas,,,,70-80 mph ish.
Even running in rush hour traffic around Lyon the car seemed good on fuel, the engine was only switched off to re fuel!

I agree with the comments regards engine speed,,
At 2600 revs is loud, at 3000/31000 it's very quiet,,
I tended to stay around 75-85 mph,,
So I arrived here last night,, wow,,,she's hot,,, and I'm not on about the car !!!
Oh so I drive allday then it's dark, I'm on the D47 to Plan de la tour,, my brain is dead so I can't remember exactly,,
After so many miles now I'm negotiating corner after corner,, I felt sick, left right left right, on and on like that,,
Since the new Ecu my pops and bangs are different, proper pops and cracks, you'd think after so many miles I'd be fed up with it,,,,not a bit,,
So I'm 5 miles from meeting this stunning woman, I'm almost there, f
king wild deer, runs right across the front of the car,,,
Lock the brakes and somehow avoid it, I drive the last few clicks shaking my head in disbelief at that last momen!
When I was here before on the motorbike I was always mentioning people enjoying it,,
I was amused a number of times yesterday,, mostly blokes confused, what the feck is this thing I can see them thinking,
There was a crash just before Reims, I'm sat in a cue for 40 mins,, a Porsche driver walks up the road just to look at the Tvr,
We discuss cars, then when the traffics moving we run together for about 80
Miles,, cool as you like, overtaking eachother, slowing then again, we waved at eachother as he went his way,
What a great days driving yesterday,,I was fked, then someone else wanted s.x it's a hard life. Hahah

Well done Alun, I'm pleased the "pops and bangs" aren't just confined to the car 
Btw keep them peeled for wild boars around there as well, I can across one at night when I was on the bike. He was the size of a 3 seater sofa, he just stood in the road and looked at me, didn't budge until he wanted too ..
