leather cleaning

want to clean the dash and seats in the chim. whats the best stuff to use

i use decosol(sp?) to clean the leather,then apply generous quantaties of autoglym leather cream to feed afterwards.i recently read in a magazine test that glyptone was the best feed cream with the nicest smell also,so ill be giving that a try when the autoglym runs out.

Gliptone do a cleaner and conditioner, thats what I use and its very good.

As posted in the other thread running on this topic, I just use Tack Cleaner. i.e. Saddle Soap and Neatsfoot compound, it works perfectly well.

The only way to get real ingrained dirt out of light coloured leather is to use kitchen cream cleaner and a toothbrush. Proprietary leather shampoo just doesn't do it. It might sound drastic, but only do it thoroughly once a year and it's fine as long as you follow with copious amounts of a quality leather feed and conditioner. I've been doing this for years and it stays like new.

SaddleSoap and a sponge worked fine for my magnolia hide for the ingrained dirt.. it took a bit of elbow grease mind you.. a toothbrush does indeed sound drastic to me !

tried saddle soap, but it was a bit like smearing lard on the dash so went with liquid leather instead much better...

I used saddle soap as well and got great results!
