Standard headlight repairer ?

both my standard headlights are losing their reflective ability, is there a company who re furbs them ?

You can have the reflectors re-chromed, you can buy new reflectors and fit them yourself or, while your car is at Central TVR, maybe consider one of their upgrades?

I'll be doing a standard headlamp referb this winter. Rechrome the reflectors and replace the rusty old adjusters. I'm also upgrading the wiring to increase headlamp luminosity

how much are those reflectors,,,,FFS !
I've always likes the standard look, Adrian nearly did the Mk3 conversion but I rang him back and said leave it as standard,,,
The price of those rare units,,,kin ell I should have had it done !

Have a chat with Adrian. One advantage for going for the mark 3 faired in conversion is that Adrian has to respray a certain amount of the front end as part of the fixed price job. This might deal with your stone chip issues without you having to pay for it separately?

I've got my Lupo headlights all ready to install but waiting for better weather. At £75 each from Euro Car Parts, Magnetti Marelli - not wanga-wanga - a good price in comparison to some of the dealer parts anyway. And no more rusty adjusters to fiddle with.;)

Alan, Dom has just done ours with re-chromed reflectors and was putting two more in with his chromer when I picked the car up last week. Lovely job and preserves the classic look of the original design.

Just been over to Doms,,I had a new throttle cable but it was snagging so the boys just replaced it for me,,,no reflectors in stock,the other two have been used already, Central Tvr lost all there's in the fire!
Dom can get them re done but needs the old ones as doners,,

Alun's car does have the original style lights, but is a W reg 2000 car, so only missed having factory mark 3 faired in lights by a few months.
Anyway, it is his car, not mine, so he should go for the style he prefers.

Alun, I think I may anyway be confusing Central's tuscan conversion for the Chim with the mark 3 conversion. I am not sure now that the mark 3 requires any re-spraying, whereas the tuscan conversion needs new fibreglass pods for the lights, and thus a front end respray.

Yeah that's all correct Anthony, my car is on the cusp of the Mk3 era, april2000 if it had the later headlights it basically would be a Mk 3 but I like the old school lenses and more classic look

I have the same lights purchased from the same supplier ,they are crap !

I haven't used them but wanted to. I can't even get my cowls off due to rusted up wing nuts so I've left it for now.

I'll be dismantling mine and while they're being re chromed I'll refurbish the cowel area and the space between reflector and lens.

I'm trying to keep the car on the road right now,, I'm going to get the best bulbs I can for now then do my re furb at a later date,,,
Looking at the job description, it's really not so bad,, if I can get a couple of old reflectors then I'll do it ASAP

Why use 'The genius of the lamp'? This is just a simple re-chroming job. A specialist like The Genius of the Lamp would only be doing the same and simple re-chroming but charge more
