Ta,

Any idea which model / price. Don't really need anything too fancy, just to replace the old system. However would be nice to have remove boot release and the the windows to close....

I've had a cobra fitted. All seems well and I've got it set up so you can open the boot with the second fob button.

About £400 fitted.

I have a Chimaera of same vintage as yours and when my Meta alarm siren failed I looked into getting a new system, a Clifford Concept 500 I think, anyway, after a day with the car the engineer declined to fit the new alarm as the Meta alarm was so well installed by the factory that it would take about 2-3 days in labour alone just to remove it so that they could be sure it wouldn't interfere with the Clifford.

I may be a one off, but the dealer that I used was highly reputable so I know they weren't bullshi!!ing me. Might be a similar state of play on yours, just thought I'd let you know sooner rather than you find out problems later.

Mine was f*****d when I bought the car and had the whole lot replaced, immobiliser, Thatcham cat alarm and esnors etc, you know the stuff. whole rebuild was 400 quid, including automatic window closing and boot sensor etc.

Done by Inca in Welwyn Garden City. They'd done quite a few TVRs before which is what convinced me to let them rip into my beast (aaaii!).

Cheers Guys,

I found this thread (after some more searching)

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=13373&f=8&h=0

I've phoned Premier Alarms in MK and spoken to a couple of guys re: fitting the Clifford Concept 300, which fits my requirements (also gives remove boot release and shuts the windows). They reckon about £400 including removing the old Meta alarm, extremely helpful guys, so its booked in for next week. I'm going to have a wander over at the weekend and eye-ball the kit before the final thumbs up!

Will let you all know of my experience / recommendations.

Cheers

Steve
