Hi there,

I have a 96 Chim 4.0HC. No problems with the alarm (touchwood). It has a rectangular fob with two small buttons in the middle (one for silent the other makes a noise). Any idea which manufacturor this is?

Whilst reaching in to grab something with the top down, the alarm went off without rocking the car, are there motion sensors (microwave/ultrasonic) and if so, where are they.

The other thing.... I want to fit a window lifting unit, which is about £25 from Maplin ( www.maplin.co.uk/products/details.php?CartID=0208181329111442004&moduleno=25630&modulecode= )

has anyone tried? I think all it requires is an output from the alarm, and the other obvious connections.

It should be a Foxguard alarm on yours.

There is a microwave sensor located invisibly in the car. Your car's manual (if not Steve Heath's book) explains in a little more detail.

Haven't tried the remote window closing although several people here have, but sounds like they've mostly added this when replacing their alarm. Try speaking to Foxguard and Maplins tech departments... and we'd like to hear how you get on!!!
