Nothing you can buy has any value beyond that which you place upon it ... If you think it is worth £40,000 then as long as you think it is worth £40,000 then it keeps its value to you ... whether anyone else on the planet thinks it's worth £40,000 is anyone's guess.If you value something by what value it has to someone else then it has no value to you.
I have no idea (nor do I care) what my Blackpool Bucket is worth to anyone else - I know that if I sold it I wouldn't get back anywhere close to what I've spent on it and I don't care because I have no intention of ever getting rid of it.

The advert says it's a 1998 car, but the body suggests it's a Mark 1 and the Sprint article refers to it as "an early Chimaera 400".
Bit confusing.
How much of it is actually still a TVR though?
£40k for a heavily modified, nearly 20 year old car ............ it's not going to be easy to sell.
ETA - checked DVLA, it's a 1996 car, which is supported by the N plate.

After spending a shedload on building your ultimate Chimaera, why are you selling it?
It was a great project and have had some fun, but now moving on to new things which are taking my interest, time, and cash. I am going Caterham academy racing in 2017, in the process of opening a new business venture, and have moved into a lovely small holding in the forest of dean so no time left to play in the TVR.After spending a shedload on building your ultimate Chimaera, why are you selling it?

It's going to be so fast it needs Traction control and Abs,,,so what's the point in a way, it reminds me of a go cart with a massive motorbike engine,, crap round corners, but it might actually be drivable ?? I like the chassis but unless it's a track car I'd think keeping a highly tuned RV8 in situ would actually be more appealing and possibly faster to drive,, and that's the only thing that matters,, speed,,, On a track that is !! It might be a glorious tourer too,, but I personally think the engine seems over the top for the chassis and brakes and general grip available,,, but I might be wrong and hope I am, someone needs to show what it can do,, I'll be at Silverstone Tuesday the ,, at 8.30 sharpe if you need a driver,, hahahah,, hey it's a fantastic car and I hope it gets sold

Alun I've driven this car, and I have to say the only thing you got right was that you could be wrong about it
The car is awesome, it drives really well, in traffic there's no shunting just smooth acceleration until you really open the taps and then OMG, I reckon it will out accelerate just about anything on the road. The chassis is fantastic, the car handles really really well and in my opinion is no more in need of ABS and traction control than any TVR, once you break traction its academic how much power you have.
