Battery appears to be knackered so how much should I expect to pay for a new one?
Any particular type or make best?

Dunno, but i have the same problem. Although im going to use the opportunity to move the batt ( and use a gel bat) to the boot. Im sure there was a thread on here where someone had done it

Hi guys,

just done this myself. I got a battery from BatManUK (www.batmanuk.com) for £65 including VAT and next day delivery. Fitted it myself in about 1 1/2 hours. Dealer was quoting £70 plus 1 hour labour plus VAT, so no brainer. Bracknell T&B had one for £40 plus Vodka and Tonic but it went before I could get there, so you can get them cheaper.

There are a few useful posts on here. Do a search on "crank rating" and you should find a very useful post with detailed instructions on how to do it. Also have a look for some of my recent posts about batteries which contain a few more useful tips.
