Perhaps the fuel pump has been damaged by running dry, how long did it run?

I am guessing you have an airlock in the fuel system? So you (carefully) need to see if you are getting fuel at the injectors.
Not my area of expertise.

There is a valve on the offside of the fuel rail, you should see a small tyre cap,, you could always get a lad of rags around the engine and just open it a tad, if it's got fuel you'll know pretty quick. Or undo the fuel pipe to the fuel regulator also offside but that will be messy too.
If the filter needs re filling it could take some time but I'd expect fuel up there pretty quick .
Like Qbee, wait for a more comprehensive answer as I'm just guessing and fuel everywhere is not your goal.

If you have fuel at the fuel rail then you have fuel.....
so to me it sounds like the ignition is not working.

First thing is to make sure the ignition side is not immobilised by locking and unlocking the car.
Then check you have a spark by taking a spark plug out and laying it on the rocker cover and get someone to turn the engine over.

and so on

Are you sure that you ran it dry of fuel or did you just assume because it was very low and the car stopped moving? For the record, last time I ran mine empty it took a good 3 minutes of cranking it before it kicked into life again, it really didn't like it hehe

Disconnect the pump relay in footwell, where the battery is.

Crank it over with throttle open for 10 seconds.

Connect relay and start with no throttle.

If nothing, when mine was flooded, it started on wide open throttle.

If not, dry and clean plugs and retry.

You can pull both relays as the other is for the fuel injection.

Pull them, switch on ignition and you shouldn't here the pump priming.

A quick check for fuel at the pump end is to listen to the pump when turning the ignition on/ off. Try it 3 times int he row and you will hear the pump strain as pressure builds up (don't start the engine to hear).

This is how I have been priming the system after replacing fuel pump, lines etc. Every time after doing this the engine surprisingly starts as per normal. (yet to try after the injectors are drained though)

Make sure the new relays are exactly the same as the old.

There are realised that fits but I'm not the same.

Rather use the original relays and then just swap them around.

Is the starter motor still spinning though when you turn the key?

Check that your pump is OK. Run a wire from Battery +ve to the live side of the pump.

If pump OK then it could be one of several plug/sockets in the chain or possibly the immobiliser if this circuit is immobilised.

Wiring diagram for fuel pump on Griffith:

http://www.bertram-hill.com/griffith-wiring.html

Chimera hopefully similar.
