Hey,I had a cracker of a Tvr day. Set off early 6 ish from Rugby, cruised down the Fosseway in thick fog, stayed a safe distance back and followed the tail lights but it slowly lifted as I arrived at Hullavington airfield for one of its last track days before its turned into houses!!
Had some pretty amazing rides in other people's Tvr's I've been driving my own Tvr on and off for four years,,,,
For some rather amusing reason, Anthony Qbee,,, floored his fast 5.0L off the start gate and then into second,,, my guts went very peculiar and I actually felt sick,,, just the acceleration from nothing,, haha, only when your in someone else's car do you realise how fast a Tvr is.
Peters car Phazed, words don't cover it,,,,, hellishly brilliant maybe, so sorted it's untrue, and he actually looks younger everytime is see him, hahah
Three wonderful Griffs to behold, Gruffalo's Cerb, beast! I'd loved to have seen that on track but like me he couldn't get on, fully booked.
I was glad I didn't thrash my car and still enjoyed the rides oupps I digress,
Yes Dave a cracker of a Tvr driving day, then to top it off I had the pleasure of popping and banging my way home back up the fosse at a very gentle pace with Qbee in my mirror pulling his Tiv on his trailer, sound day out.

Yep took Kate out for fuel in advance of a proper run out on Sunday. The garage is five minutes away but the trip there and back took nearly an hour, can't think why. I love the way these cars can be woken up from hibernation and within no time at all are settled and smooth. They're a joy.

Phazed (5.5 litre chim) Bluebottle (5 litre supercharged Grief), PJAC67 (5.4 litre LPG Grief) and lil ole me (5 litre Chim) did a track day at Hullavington.
PJAC was the bravest, letting his 1.4 Corsa driving teenage son not only take his Grief out, but also find faster lines through some corners than Dad. Natural talent, that young man. And polite enough to let me pass.
Bluebottle's daughter also did her first track day in an A3 TDI, and I heard comments to the effect of "bloody quick, that A3". Again, she had the good manners to let me pass.
My day was slightly knackered by a disappearing brake pedal, but the lads sorted that by mid-afternoon. All things considered, a good day to be out in the TVR, despite the 280 mile return trip. Good job my Saab tow car is ultra-comfortable.

Anyone know much about the Ferrari 208, like the 308 but with a smaller engine,,, very very rare apparently,

Sun out roof off, popped in to see a mate, he's just got his very private toy running and about to go for a cruise around the lanes,, so he's pleased to see me in the Tvr just in case it blows a hose, hahah,, so I follow him about Warwickshire for over an hour as he drives in front and all I can see is Magnum, what a laugh and buzz, this is a very special moment in both our lives really,, he's done it, got an old Ferrari, took til he's 54 years but he's made it,
His Ferrari was toatally drowned out by the Tvr so I gave him space to enjoy his car, we had a right crac.
That particular Ferrari is a very sweet thing, this has 12,000 miles on the clock, imported from Italy about 18 months ago,
Left hand hooker etc, it's totally beautiful, never been wet sort of look to it,,
So we rumbled about and I only once took the lead,,, I gave it the beans in second and overtook and later his cousin passenger said that's faster than my Porsche isn't it,,, hahah, not likely I said but he was way worried,,, slightly amusing considering what he paid for his car,, he asks me questions all the time, time I found him a Tvr and converted him.
So that was some fun in the sun today,,, what a privilege and my two mates admire my car almost as much as like the Ferrari, isn't that a compliment,,, but the Ferrari oh what a glorious car.
Going through villages was very satisfying, the Ferrari turning heads then the Tvr seemingly giving similar pleasure especially when the kids and dads heard it, I drive mine everyday and do hundreds of miles a week at the moment, you just get used to it, then a little sunny drive and I'm following this uber cool Ferrari pretty quick around some corners and easily hanging on to this old beauty in front and all of a sudden something came over me and I had a moment of silence, a milli second before the next bump appears,,, thinking,,, how lucky am I to be doing this,, my car is close to the car I envisioned a few years ago, it was clear today,, my mates worrying about his car as he drives,,, naturally,,, but I'm thrilling at mine and can push it very hard if I like, there's always issues coming up with cars but right now mines on song, Dom and all the boys at Powers have done most of the important work on mine and it's working very well so today was us revelling in this Ferrari then looking at the Tvr afterwards the boys were totally in love with it, its reliability etc and it's speed.
it just felt like my mate was driving the perfect iconic car and I considered my car against it,,, it didn't take long and as we drive I'm popping and banging along and realising just how good a car these Tvr's really are, special things indeed.

I've been for a lovely day out with my girlfriend today with roof down and noticed that a lot of people admire the chim even if they have pretty nice motors themselves. It's coz they have nice cars that are everywhere! My example was a couple in a v nice 4 series were getting a good eyeful and smiled when I started her up in the pub carpark. Those people don't see tvrs everyday but you don't go anywhere without seeing a nice bmw! I'm new to tvr and when I chose it I thought of so many alternatives. Only thing I'll ever change it for now other than possibly a better tvr is an f-type and when I can afford to do that I'll prob still keep the chim, would love to have a go in a classic ferrari tho, sounds you followed a a mate with a great car today.

I'm only just realising I should have taken a few pictures, he'll not have it out or from under cover very often so it was a perfect chance, mmm !
I sat in it and it's got that offset driving position, like a cart often has, pure race car stuff, the little bucket seat etc, louvres,, you gotta love louvres,,, mid engine V8,, big old tyres and those classic Rims,, sweeping lines,, those old Ferrari's are very special.

Even after nearly five years of owning our car it never ceases to amaze us how warmly people react. We only parked up next to Lake Bala for an hour today, soon as we arrived an old gent wanted to know the engine specs and was instantly in love with our Kate, later on we spotted a couple park up next to her and spend ages examining her in detail (we were off in the distance). Then they leaned on their BMW One series and just stared at her, like they'd never seen one in the flesh before. North Wales mountain roads + sunshine+ TVR = great day out.
