Fresh start, fingers crossed

A few of you may know I've not had the best of luck with racing, engine woes etc the last year or 2.

The Chim now sports a new engine. New remanufactured top hat block, offset ground toughened crank, Chevy I beam rods, forged pistons, refurbed 500 heads, solid crower 50304 cam, yella terra roller rockers etc.

I took a week off work last week to finish the engine and get the car as near to race ready as I could. There is also a new roll cage with swing out door bars all to proper drag racing spec. The engine is running and will be getting mapped by Dale at Bailey Motorsport on Friday. Then the car is getting treated to a full machine polish and detail by Nick at Polished2Perfection on Saturday. Then straight to York for testing and running in further on Sunday. Racing starts Monday but I may enter a race class or 2 on the Sunday while testing.

I've taken a step back from PH etc while I have worked hard to getting the car sorted. So let's hope this is a little turning point and I can start annoying you all with my race reports and exploits again.

Thanks for the support guys it really does mean a lot. I am sure there are plenty thinking ' he will only go and blow it up again'.

Very little nitrous if any for a long while.

As for aims I am going to try to be the first RV8 TVR to run an 11 NA.
But really I just want some reliability and to get a full season racing in with minimal mishaps.

Goodluck Derek, some might wonder but racing is about pushing the envelope and blow ups are just part of the game.
It ceases to amaze me how committed racers really are.

I have only driven it a couple miles to the MoT station and back. Not enough to notice the difference yet. Rolling road on Friday then I hope to have my first drive to Knaresborough cruise from the track on Saturday evening.
