I'm in a dilemma, I always wanted to own a Tvr long before I worked for a Tvr firm, that only inspired me more.
Years later after smashing myself for years I bought a lovely 450, I've put it right and now I find myself a little bit bored by it.
I'm surprised by my own reaction as I want/wanted to keep it until I died or it killed me but I'm a little bit bored by it.
I've always fancied an el Camino but I know it won't fit I the garage, parts will be a nightmare as will driving a big left hooker in the uk, I want to keep the Chim as I know it makes my balls tickle every time I look at it but has anyone else gone through something similar? Help me!

After 14 years of ownership I can definitely say I've been through this several times but thankfully I managed to avoid selling. You'll feel differently in time and after every low time your passion for your TVR will grow. There isn't anything for sale today that can fill the void it would leave you with

I went through a 'I think it might be over' feeling a few weeks back, but managed to shake it off... smile

In an attempt to lift myself out of it I tried to imagine what life would actually be like with no beastie around the place, but the resulting anxiety attacks quickly brought me back to my senses smile

Got lots of helpful advice and support, thread link below...

I've just gone through the same process and resulted in me putting the Chim on e-bay. I felt that the feeling I had when I had my first Chimaera was not there and having bought one a year ago I only racked up a few hundred miles. That coupled with pressure to buy a 2+2 it seemed like a no brainer, time to accept my relationship with TVR was at an end. This led to me (over the last two weeks) being seduced by things such as heated seats, bundles of low down torque, bose stereos and top quality interiors. Job done I thought.

However................... with every intention of selling the car to the highest bidder I thought I would take the Chimaera for one last spin in the sun yesterday and really let her stretch her legs. It then suddenly hit me as I was hacking around the B roads that I was about to give this up for a German or Japanese variant on the theme. I just could not do it, TVR's are special 'warts and all' and I had been looking through the wrong end of the telescope. Having driven a a 996, Nissan 350z, and maserati 3200 in the last 10 days for me they just don't have that special ingredient !

SO no onwards and upwards and realising what I was about to lose at the 11th hour has re-ignited that spark so one of those 'everything has a reason lesson I guess'.

I was starting to get a bit jaded to mine but over a year of enforced non-use (mechanical issue) has me yearning for her again...

There are better cars out there but I can't think of anything that gives the 'connection' that the TVR does.

Sell it and buy a Cerbera. You can't get bored of that (unless you really want to put the roof down....)
