Headlight lens replacement

I am trying to replace my headlight lens, it looks like it should sit in a rubber seal which is stuck in place with Sikaflex, does anyone have any tips on how to refit the lens without removing the seal first, it not in very good condition and will probably break up if I try and remove it.

They are pretty robust, I've dropped one onto a concrete floor without issue. Yes they do have a stretchy black rubber ring on the outer edge though I don't know why. For me it's safer to Sikaflex the lens directly to the headlamp recess

Replaced both lenses last week and didn't have a rubber seal. Thin bead of Sikaflex where the lens sits in the recess, press lens into position (make sure the word Bosch on the lens is directly above the bottom adjuster gap so you get the correct beam pattern) then a thin bead all round on top. Once you have adjusted the beam to the correct position, fill in the 3 gaps with more sealant.
