Wiper Stalk

I have to replace the wiper stalk, as the flick wipe function has stopped working.

Is there a 'how to' take the steering column plastic bits off without breaking them anywhere? I've taken out all the screws I can see, but nothing is budging.

Grateful for any tips.

When I replaced mine, getting into the steering column cowl was simply two screws accessed from underneath:

There are 2 small black plastic screw covers, one each side of the steering wheel. Prise these off and take out the 2 screws.


These 2 screws underneath the steering column to be removed.



Tilt the steering wheel down as far as it will go and then unscrew the rake adjustment lever.

You should now be able to remove the bottom half of the cover, which will allow you to get your fingers under the edges of the top half and jiggle it out. The front edge is a tight fit between the column and the bottom of the dashboard and may be a bit stiff.

Be patient. It took me quite a while to get mine off.
