Hi, has anyone any knowledge of or fitted a RPI amplifier and if so the obvious question is it worth it cheer Keith

Its Kv output is LOWER than the lucas amp, but the burn time of the spark is longer. The guff on the RPI web site is simply rubbish about maximum coil / spark power- and yes I did bench test it to measure its output. Dont waste your money.

If for some strange reason you want a beefier amp than the Lucas then the Velleman kit works fine if you use the lucas unit purely to trigger the Velleman as if it was points driven. Costs a whole £10 but you need to solder it up and add a box as well. I doubt you would gain much in the process however.
