Battery.

Battery is f****d!!
Won't hold a charge at all.
How difficult are they to change or is it best left to the dealer?
Any advice very greatfully received.

Very easy to change - just don't forget there's no metal body to earth it so don't cross the beams!

Just pull out all the carpet in the passenger side footwell, undo the 2 bolts on the bottom (underneath the car, 13mm socket) and slide it out. The hard part is repacking all the electrical gubbins round it when putting it back. the battery box has to slide all the way in before the bolts from underneath will go it. The bible suggests marking where the battery box comes to before removal to help with the line up.
Don't forget to reseal the bolts with silicone or something after putting them back on.

I managed it and I'm rubbish with cars.

Oh, and get a good battery - loads of threads on which are good.

as jimothy says, easy enough job but dont expect it to take 5 minutes like on a "normal" car.

Cannot stress how important it is to makr the floor with the battery box position, or you'll be searching for the bolt holes for ages trying to get them back in from underneath the car.

Must admit, I charged mine in the car. No harm done (however not my fault if you try this and your car explodes).
