hey calm down....only asked!ive seen some cars with racing seats(yes they were racing cars)and looked ok.
also as to TVR's are the real thing.....i thought the parts that made a tvr came from many different vehicles!dont get me wrong ..i love my car but i was only asking if somebody else has done it.maybe i want my car to look different to everyone elses!....i dont have to be a purist,i was even thinking of putting aftermarket non tvr alloys on(to b different),might even look better...god forbid.
TVR seats may be the "real thing" but they are also really pants ... IMHO, of course. The standard Chim seats off no lower back support, and there is little to stop you sliding from side to side in them either.
If you have a search of the threads you'll find some people have put Cerbera seats in, but IIRC they raise the driving position slightly which is a non-starter for me (head above rollbar situation).
As far as I can find, no one has posted on pistonheads with first hand experience of fitting after market seats into a Chim. If anyone else has found such a thread, please post a link in here.
For what it's worth, I have been planning for some time to drive down to Hastings or wherever Corbeau are based (St Leonards on Sea, now i come to think of it ... quite different from hastings ... apparently) and seeing what will fit in the car, whilst raising my bum no higher, and letting me stay as far as posible fom the pedals. Haven't got round to it yet and am now in bloody Paris for a few months which stuffs things up rather a lot.

Don't the very latest Chimaeras (2001 on) have Tuscan style seats as standard? I know I've seen them fitted and heard it mentioned. They certainly look much better in terms of lateral support, which is pretty limited with the standard item. Look rather stylish too, I'd certainly consider that upgrade esp in the context of sprinting etc. No worries about authenticity etc in that case. 
Standard seats are great for cruising but if you venture out on the track you'll soon find that they are pretty pants.
Apparently the space is quite narrow, so most after-market seats are too wide.
I saw some in an advert in Practical Performance Car this month that are pretty narrow (designed for narrow bodied Caterfields). They come in different colours including tan and green, which would be perfect for me. I'll try and dig out the details later if anyone's interested.

A good harness to hold you in the seat makes a big difference even with the standard seats, but you do really need to add rollover protection before you do this.
Some lateral thinking I saw at a TVRCC track day a couple of years ago: somebody had made up a 'U' shape that dropped down over the seat back and provided lateral support to the sides of your rib cage. Worked very well I understand.
My preference is for a decent bucket seat plus harness, but I can understand that most people find this too awkward to live with in daily use.

Tuscan seats are not ideal for full harnesses and the weight compared to a good competition seat is horrendous.
