Why we clean things!

There's a very good engineering reason to clean things,,
At a quick glance you can see the tell tale sign of a problem,,
Leaks etc,,,
It's a form of routine maintenance as you identify areas to improve or just simply repair.
You get to know your car and where things reside,

I've spent many years on and off around racing,, who in their right mind would trailer a filthy car to a race track and just get in it and hope!
Cleaning is a simple and often vital way to stay ahead of issues especially when going on track and risking other people's lives!!!

So once you've cleaned something it doesn't take much to polish it,,, polished metal is a form of art to some men,, if it's coupled to a fast car it's a bonus.

Don't clean at your peril I say!

I find getting the right weather to clean and polish my car is difficult, but when it is right it's therapeutic and looks so good afterwards and for some reason it feels faster when done, I know it's just psychological but I like going out in a beautifully cleaned car. Back to the weather though, Rainy - NO, Hot Sunhine NO, well Yes if I just need to give it a quick wash off, Slightly overcast but no threat of rain - PERFECT, Very overcast - Might chance it, do I need to do inside and out? Does it want waxing too etc... Then it starts to rain!!!!

Last week was pretty good for cleaning. Out with the DA polisher for the first time this year. Took 5 hours and finished with a coat of Meguiars NXT 2 wax and it felt super smooth afterwards.
At the County Wheels show in Woodhall Spa yesterday, several nice comments about the paint finish so that made it all worthwhile. It dd show up the stone chips and scratches though
