Dog chewed the remote

As per the title one of the remotes got clamped between the teeth of one of our mutts (German Shepherd so not funny!). I've managed to sort it (pcb wasn't damaged) but have to say the operation of the immobiliser has been getting worse and worse. After this palaver I replaced the batteries and whilst it now works again on both remotes, any sign of sunshine and a hot cabin wipes it out. Zero response from the remote but the immobiliser stick when placed into the socket on the side of the column works just fine. I'm toying with a new alarm / immobiliser (Viper?) but has anyone got an answer to the original immobiliser / remote problem I have? Two quality replacement remotes would be the best answer.

Replacement remotes can be programmed/supplied by the ususal places, assuming you have the red code card or the information that was on it.

Thanks ukdj but went on to wonder after posting whether the receiver is the weak item. But thanks for the contacts (thought Carl was out of it though) - I have the red key card so no probs there, cheers

I know dave @ HF has all the tools to test the the signal strength of the fob & receiver etc, so maybe still worth a call ?

Carl now lives in France but makes regular trips back to the UK, so very much still in it.

I had aging and failing fobs, Abacus Alarms were very friendly and knowledgeable, sent me two new fobs and clear instructions on how to pair up, they know the Meta alarm system well and can advise,
I've used the same fob since then ( over 3 years ) and works fine.
Immobiliser on the other hand, resolve the failing immobiliser issue and the Meta system normally works well for years.

I've used Abacus as well, and I didnt have the red card (needed to send the 'brain' in).

I think Abacus can sort you the press buttons with Tvr on them, i didn't bother at the time but sort of wish I had now. Mine are the same shape etc as the original ones so it's a straight swap and as I use my car virtually every day and often multiple journeys 7500 miles in the last 7 months for instance, still using just one fob and it's never failed and works from a good 20 yards away.
