Bosch Battery

Please don't shout for another battery thread but have had a look thru the search.. Does anyone have the bosch part number for a type 72 equiv, Want to get one from GSF just up the road but wondered if anyone else had fitted a bosch and if it went in OK. Any help appreciated...

There is little point in buying brand named batteries (IMHO). I sourced my last battery from a battery wholesaler and it was completely unmarked until they stuck on various brand stickers, just before I paid him?

The guy explained that since the demise of Tungstone Batteries of Market Harborough, who supplied TVR amongst others, no-one in the UK makes car batteries any more. All car batteries come from abroad where labour rates are lower and enviromental controls are easier.

So what ever brand you buy it is likely that they were all made in the same factory

If you have the old battery out, just measure it and choose the best one in that size.

If that fails ask the guys at your local GSF for the equivlent size to 072, i'm sure they'll know.

Halfords again -- they looked at the old one -- the watts, amps etc and then offered an exact replacement

Yeah, Halfords wanted £75 for a type 72.. Bunged in a type 75 in the end 590A but at £35 made more sense.. Seems fine...

gsf will know what an 072 battery is
