i did a search but couldnt find answer so il ask here!!
is it ford 4x100 that will fit or 4x108 as im looking for alloys,what offset can i get away with,what will happen if i get 4 alloys(offset) the same as i read u cant do that.im lookin to put 17 inchers on ,i know the answer is prob in the bible but i am awaiting the postie........i sit at the door 5am everymornin special like but he still aint brought it!!!!!!

This works out to roughly 108mm PCD which is how it is often quoted, but it's basically an imperial stud pattern.
The offset has to match the rim width, you haven't said what this will be. If you increase the rim width you need to juggle the offset, it is a compromise between keeping the centerline in the same place to give the correct steering characteristics, and keeping the wheel inside the arch and away from the suspension. If you keep the width and offset the same it will definitely fit.
If you fit a bigger rim with lower sidewall height this will affect the steering feel and handlng, so will changing the width and offset. Whether this is a problem depends on how much of a change you make, whether you're discerning enough to notice, and what other changes you make to the suspension to compensate.

IMHO that's too narrow. People generally seem to go for 7.5 rims and a 30mm offset, still on the narrow side but widely available to suit the Astra Bling Boys. 8" rims with a 27mm offset and 215 or 225 tyres at the front and 235 or 245 tyres at the rear may be more suitable.
