Tick over, revs, miss fire, problems help
Discussion
Must confess first of all I have not used the Tvr for a long while or been on here or had much interest tbhive just moved it about at home if it's been in the way. I've just busy working, diy, etc
Although after a going to the super car show this Saturday at the top gear track and seeing the tvrs going round (a lovely Griffith and Tuscan) it resparked my interest love for the Tvr.
Ok my problem
I got the car out, washed it started it and it ran horrible. it was very low on fuel, so topped it up still bit rough. I cleaned the stepper motor and housing it goes in, and it ran perfect. I left it to warm up a bit, then put it away. Got it out again today went for a few miles drive just local, it seemed great. in till I the wife wanted to pop into the shop, I'm sat outside car ticks over maybe 5 minutes of perfect tick over, it went to 1200rpm then to 800rmp then 1200rpm a few times then it stalled. Restarted it give it a rev then it ticked over at 2000rpm. Then dropped slowly it's now back at home after a few stalls on the way home at junctions and some perfect ticking over at others.
Sorry it's a bit long. Hope this page is as helpful as ever. What do I need to do to fix the car as I really want to drive it now

When at a standstill the ECU sets and controls idle revs. When you come off the motorway and are coming down the sliproad the ECU holds the idle high so the engine does not stall as you come to a stop. When you do stop the ECU will drop the revs.
To do all this the ECU gets a road speed signal.
The speed signal produced for the TVR speedo is not compatible with the Rover ECU so TVR built an electronics box as an interface. There are known issues with this box.
Rovergauge is a program to run on your laptop and reads the data the ECU is seeing and using to run the engine, revs, speed, temperatures, air flow, throttle position etc.
The software is free and you will get it and instructions when you buy the cable from a guy on here and sells through the classifieds. Good bit of kit that we now use almost daily in our workshop.
