No. On radial aero engines, there is one 'master' con rod that has a large ring cast into the bottom of it. All the other con rods have bottom end bearings that attach them to the ring of the master con rod. The ring moves around in a circle (but doesn't rotate, if you see what I mean) and the power is taken off from that. All four-stroke radials must have an odd number of cylinders (except if there are two banks of cylinders, effectively two radials welded together, in which case there's an odd number x2) - since each cylinder can only fire on every other rotation of the engine.Here's quite a good animation. I would assume it would be an idea only. The engineering forces and lubrication issues of those swing bars looks like more trouble than it's worth. Also every leaver is absorbing energy, it must be better to get that energy to the crank as directly as possible
