Tax Disc Holder

Bought new one with TVR on it but sticky bits wont hold it on. Yes I know its cold so I warmed it and yes I did clean the screen. I need some more but the only ones my local shop has are black and look crap. Anybody out there seen any translucent stickers or have any suggestions.

Mine is the aerial for telephone kit. Seems to work OK!

I got a magnatax from halfords and then made a TVR logo white disc the same size on the PC and glued it onto the magnatax.. Looks quite good imo.. Will post a photo if i remember

I got some more translucent spacers from an office supplies shop. Staples or such like. Still took a bit of work for it to stay on as the screen is so curved. In the end I decided it looked bloody awful with the sticky bits all over anyway. Pity really.

I now have one of these suction type holders;

which looks as good I think. I got mine from a classic car website but these ebay ones are about the same price,

I bought one of these. It was a pig to get the little covers off the double sided clear sticky pads, but when I did, it did stick OK. Finding where it would stick due to the curve on the glass was another matter.

If I were you I'd go back to where you got it from. If it was off e-bay find the auction again (they have them in the auction all the time) and send an e-mail to them. Most people who do a lot of selling on there are very helpful.

I am assuming that it is one of the Richbrook type?

If so Halfords or any Richbrook stockest will sell the little kits with spare pads, spacer and allen key in it.

I bought an alloy one from taxdiskholder.com, with TVR etched on the back. Had trouble getting it to stick as the curve on the Tam windscreen is a little to rounded.

on a curved surface it's going to touch in three points.



I found those points at the least curved point of the passenger corner [alcohol cleaned] windscreen and layered up the see thru sticky things, job done.

I got a maclaren F1 one from halfwits as it suits my car colour, and job done.

I use a roll of duck tape wedged in between tax disc holder and the dash

Don't knock it, it works...

Safer to use PayPal rather than a cheque. At least you have some protection from PayPal and your credit card company. I won't buy from anyone that does not accept oayment via PayPal for this very reason.
(No I don't work for them)

mine kept falling off, so have used clear silicone on top of the sticky bits, seems to have done the trick!

keep getting assurances from taxdischolder.com that my goods will be with me shortly, it,s now 17 days since they cashed my chq. and i,ve got to say i don,t trust them and have asked for my money back. any body else had problems with them. petergot

just noticed they,re no longer a registered e bay user, if i,d have spotted that at the start wouldn,t have purchased from them in the first place. looks i,m £17. out of pocket.
