Hi, I'm sure this has been covered at length previously so apologies in advance,
Whilst the body is off I'm going to inspect and change update the camshaft.
I've got the 98 4.0 Chim.
I'm looking to fit a cam to a standard engine that offers a mild improvement without compromising idle quality too much etc.
I've researched a bit and the real steel Viper Hurricane looks like an option?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Quite a few out there and you will get loads of suggestions, all based on what people have had installed and how they performed
I'm having an 885 camshaft from Dom at Powers Performance fitted into my 450 next week. It appears to be one of the 3 or 4 regularly used by 450 and 500 owners who want an improvement on the original but nothing too hairy and lumpy for day to day driving. He also does a camshaft for 4 litre cars that may offer better performance than the original but best to call him and have a chat about it as he may have other options based on what you may be planning to do with the engine at a future date.

With your car being a 4.0, does it have pocketed pistons? I'm not sure whether you need PP's for the 885 or not, but it's something to consider when choosing a cam.
As you have not specified any preference to low, mid or top end gains in power or torque, the 885 appears to be a popular 'all rounder' if it's applicable.
This page will give you some insight, as Rob knows a thing or two about TVR RV8 cam applications. http://www.tvrmonster.com/modscam.html
Also, Andy at Kent cams is a very helpful chap and very knowledgeable. Might be worth a ring.
