Anybody got any good tips for re-aligning the battery and car footwell holes to re-fit/screw in the battery after a removal to charge..?

its driving me mad!! cheers.

Bit late now, but mark the car floor and battery box with alignment marks and then it will be easier to re align.

as for fixing it now, side the battery box to the approx position, gentley insert a bladed screwdriver from below into one of the holes, try to locate the captive nut, once you have it, gently lever the battery box so you can insert one bolt loosely, then twist the battery box until the other aligns.

Get in the passenger seat and give the battery box a good shove with your feet -- get it as far forward as you can. You should find the holes lined up (it worked for me in the identical situation you now find yourself in).

Thanks for the tips - a combination of all seemed to work nicely... Only to find the next day it was in fact in need of a new fuse lead to the altenator.

bugger.
