I will jack it up and check.
thanks Peter, would appreciate confirmation. If anyone is wondering, the problem I have is with a T5 box fitted by a previous owner into my Taimar. If I get hold of the front yoke of the propshaft I can feel movement (up and down) where it goes into the gearbox. First thought was the bearing in back of the box must be worn but before I start stripping it down I just wondered if the propshaft yoke was either very worn (that should show as a step I guess when I get it out), or the wrong one for that gearbox?
strangely, despite the movement, the oil seal is not leaking? Unless of course the bearing is worn because no oil is getting down to there!
I do however have horrendous transmission vibration, hoping that sorting this issue will cure it
