TVR Badges

Small pieces of the "chrome" or whatever the covering was is coming off the TVR badges on the bonnet and the boot on my car. It's a 98 Chim.
Is this normal?

Also I was looking at an earlier thread about someone having a badge stolen and there was a query as to how they were fixed. If I should decide to change mine does anyone know for certain how they would have been fixed on a 98 Chim? I would rather know for certain than try removing them and potentially do some damage to the bodywork.

Hi Razor - had a quick look on ebay

but these are the bolt on ones - mine was () a stuck on one (97 Chim). Leven also do them, which look very similar to the original...

Ideally I would like to replace it with another stick on one as if the pikeys return, it won't rip the bolts through!

Leven will recondition your badges, and you can change the colour as well if you want... either silver or gold outside, and a variety of colours inside - just had mine done...

My 98 Chim had the bolt on type, and as Podie say's Leven is the place to buy. OH

Its normally the black coating that comes off leaving silver where it shouldn't be--- my rather expensive solution is to colour them back in with indelible black pen, its an exravagance i know but sometimes you just have to go that extra mile

I have e-mailed Leven but have not got a reply yet. How much did the reconditioning cost?

if you go onto their web site, leven technology, that is, the prices are there, approx £35 for a recon badge i think. peter

It was actually Saturday when I e-mailed, but they have replied now. Just for information £35 per badge was correct.

As I understand it, Leven have a small stock of reconditioned badges, so what actually happens is that you swap your knackered badges for some reconditioned ones (in your chosen hues) for a small fee (about £40 a pop IIRC).

They do then recondition your old badge(s), its just that you don't get them back.
