Recently my Chim has taken longer to fire up than normal. Plenty of power/turns from the starter, it just doesn't fire up as quickly as it used to. Any ideas out there ?

It used to fire up almost as soon as the starter turned, but not now. My guess is that the plugs need a good clean or maybe the leads are breaking down.
How easy is it to do the plugs (OK so I haven't even looked yet) and which leads should I consider replacing with ?

When was the car last serviced? Once started does it run OK?

Plugs aren't exactly straight forward, you'll need the correct extended socket for a start.

Some people have used Magnecor leads from ACT (home page is www.ACTProducts.co.uk )

My griff sometimes will not start if i hold on the cranking, release the cranking and it fires up. Dont know if its the ign switch or is there a ballast resistor for the coil as in the good old days?
