Can anyone help me? The black rubber sealing strip that runs around the door frame of my Chimaera has detached itself from the car and needs glueing down. Can anyone recommend a suitable product? Also, where this rubber strip meets the corner of the hood, there is a small bolt or pin holding it in place. Any ideals how to get it off?

Finally, anyone ever tried to replace this stuff altogether? It looks like it came from a 1980s Ford Transit.

Many thanks in advance,

Dominic

I used carpet glue (from Halfords - spray can which isn't the best, but it works). The ends are probably pop-riveted on. Try a chisel (carefully). I riveted mine back on since nothing else would hold the ends in place - not beautiful, but then the tiny bits of trim like this never are on this era of TVR.

If this is the vertical piece of rubber on the targa section, mine came adrift too (Griff, but identical design). The rivet had pulled out of the fibreglass and I couldn't get it back, but used Evo-Stick impact adhesive to hold it back in place. Seems to be holding.
