Could anyone tell me if there is a gasket where the y piece of exhaust meets the manifolds or is sealed with gasket cement

No gasket, just a bit of assembly paste between the mating surfaces.

If they are a good fit I would assemble dry.

Mine are a poor fit and the manifolds need a good ratchet strap to pull together, TVR quality I guess!

^^This is assuming they are assembled with clamps^^ If it's an older model it may have bolted flanges in which case there is a gasket
