Rover Gauge and Throttle position at 100%
Discussion
Just checking if anyone has seen this before. Check the Throttle potentiometer with a volt meter and all seems to be ok, the issue is that the car will run fine for a while and then runs like a dog. leaving for a few minutes and all is fine again, but will do the same again. Stepper motor, all the leads, roto arm, dizzy cap, temp sensor have been replaced.
Don't want to layout over £140 quid for a new Throttle potentiometer, if the issue is something simple like the tune resistor.
Hi
I had a similar problem early last year but the throttle pot was changed and then I had the same problem. Roverguage was showing 93% all of the time. I found that the red black wire from the throttle pot to ecu was intermittent high resistance / permanently disconnected.
I eventually found a busbar about 6 inches up the loom from the ecu with loads of crusty connections. I cleaned it up and it has been fine since.

I hope you find your problem.
Regards
Pete
