Anyone know of a decent source for 7mm fuel hose? I've got aircon and the 2 pipes behind the engine have 7mm hose on them at the moment, are people just sticking 8mm on them or are my shopping skills lacking? Can find decent 6mm and 8mm, the only 7mm I've found looks like low pressure stuff.

Thanking you muchly smile

No 7mm, only 6, 8 & 13

7mm sounds an odd size to me , should it not be 8mm?

Please check the item number as it does not work for me.

However, I think you will find this is exactly the hose we (Southways Automotive) have been advising peeps not to use. See the thread in the stickies above.

We have used the Goodyear mentioned earlier in this thread but believe the Gates 'Barricade' to be the best we have found.

A quick Google finds this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GATES-BARRICADE-ETHANOL-... but we actually just buy it direct from our local motor factors.

We've not seen issues with the Goodyear.

We have carried out extensive research and kept finding examples of failed hose with the bold white printed marking and also folks claiming that it is possible to clean off the white marking and re-print. The inference is that lower spec hose is being re-marked as a higher spec.

At the same time we kept finding people claiming the Gates and Goodyear products as being good. For us the more important factor is that the Gates hose is not only ink printed with the Gates name and logo the info is also embossed into the surface of the hose. With this we are then in a position to go straight back to the manufacturer if we have issues with their product. As you may have seen in the other thread we have had to recall quite a number of cars and replace hose at our expense and have not been able to lay blame on any particular supplier or manufacturer.

That is a different hose with a braided cover so I can't comment on it's suitability save to say we have bought hose, with the markings we know to be a problem, from AFS.

I think s p a c e m a n has a phobia about TVR Parts laugh

They sell 8mm fuel hose and is rated to 435 psi. It costs £5.94/metre less 7.5% if you are in the club.
Even if you do not buy from them, you can find out the info you need in the description of each part.

Now, come on s p a c e m a n, dust off the vampire moths and open that wallet tumbleweed

hehe The problem is that I'm wary of any furl hose on the net now after southways problems, also I'm tight as a ducks arse smile

Tvr parts are a good shout though, didn't think to look there. Might as well buy 8mm, don't know why mines got 7mm just on those 2 pipes, surely they're the same copper pipe coming up as everyone else.
