Just removed the top dash to find the new Caebont oil temp gauge has fell to pieces. Are they cheap Chinese rubbish or is this normal these days ?

I also need some new rubbers for the small gauges , where can I get them from at a decent price ?

One of my original gauges plastic shells had cracked its body when I replaced the dash but put that down to being 20 odd years old, and no its not acceptable for your gauge to fall apart Daz give them a ring, cant be more than a few years old?

I found them to be very helpful with my smiths instruments for another car I have. Even provided some replacement parts free of charge so may be worth speaking to them.

Daz

Try ETB Instruments: https://www.etbinstruments.com/ . They rebuilt my non-working speedo double quick, and at a good price too. Not sure if they sell spare parts as well but worth a try.

I might have just been unlucky dealing with Caerbont, but it was an uphill struggle for something straightforward, especially to a company once geared-up to supply TVR. I later made enquiries with ETB for replacement instruments for a different TVR and they couldn't have been more helpful - very patient, positive and only too pleased to help. Ironic because I understand ETB supplied Bristol Avenue before Caerbont's time... one can only speak as one finds and I'm completely unconnected with either company - good luck 'SILICONEKID345BH'!
