hose / pipe covers

I have seen that you can buy hose and pipe covers that are stainless steel (mesh) has any one put these on their car. Iam worried about heat build up???
I think they would look good though and one with pics??

Modwise do a starter motor heat shield if thats what you're thinking about?

Best way to keep heat down under the bonnet is to upgrade the fans so they keep blowing with the ignition off, until the engine bay has cooled slightly.

Adiandvic, I've not had them fitted myself. They do look good though; this is V8Smith's (sickeningly immaculate) engine bay...

I've been advised against these by several people as apparently they can leak or split under the braiding without you noticing.

This is purely S/S overbraid which just sits on top of the original pipe secured with Mikalor end clamps. I cant see how they will be more prone to leaks or not noticing leaks than any other IMHO. If there is a leak it will drip straight through and as its very clean, it will be very easy to see?
