Hi
I have the standard 5 spoke wheels, they aren't really bad, not curbed at all but some of the paint has flaked off and a little bit of oxidation, I was thinking about just rubbing then down and respraying, if I do does anyone know the correct shade of silver? Also are there any recommendations for a top coat to give a good protection for easy cleaning?
Thanks
Paul

You can tidy them up Paul, with some wet and dry, rattle can and laquer but it doesn't seem to last that long before it peels...at least not when I do it I have the standard 5 spoke wheels, they aren't really bad, not curbed at all but some of the paint has flaked off and a little bit of oxidation, I was thinking about just rubbing then down and respraying, if I do does anyone know the correct shade of silver? If your worried about keeping your car standard looking, I would find it hard to find 2 identical Chimaera's out there now in the general population, just get the closest match you can.
Many go down the route of powder coating the wheels now, and it has a better track record than when TVR were powder coating their own chassis back in the day. Powder coat is about £50 a wheel.
I know a spray can of silver paint and laquer will only set you back £20, so if you do this once a year you may think its worth doing that.

Is it because you go round the local Essex area throwing S***e and dust over other Tvr wheels?

I refurbed my wheels with paint and they only lasted about a year

You did well...not sure my last effort lasted much past 6 months...although I didn't Finish the laquer properly....t was a bit of a rush job.I refurbed my wheels with paint and they only lasted about a year
I've just looked at your previous motors and two things caught my eye.....Chim twin turbo  and an old Ambassador on there!! I remember being quite upset when my Dad bought a light brown one straight after a rust coloured princess in the late 70's/ early 80's....actually it probably was pure rust!
