Upgrades...

Took my Chim down to Racing Green this morning to check out my dodgy suspension. After getting over the starter motor problem (must get that fixed under warranty) they took it out for a test drive to check it out.
End result was the suspension is fine. A bit worn but they couldn't find anything wring with it. The only thing they found was that the front brakes are a bit worn.

So I did the sensible thing and booked it in to have the brakes replaced.

And then I did the silly thing and asked them at the same time to fit Nitrons, a sports exhaust and replace the 2 candles at the front with real lights.

Would be interested to know what the cost of the Nitrons are?

Are you just changing the bulbs or the entire lights?

I'm just changing the bulbs from what appears to be pathetic 55 watt ones to 80 watts - easier to get the garage to do it as they'll have the wheels off anyway.

Nitrons for all 4 corners, including springs and geometry setup is costing me £1200 (+ vat, I think)

Bit pricey but should be worth it!

That price is bang on the money, the units themselves are 950 plus vat, so 1200 plus vat for fitted/set up is a good price

Um, 80 watt illegal bulbs for about 10 watt increase, bet they dont fit them ! Get them to rewire just the off side lights, then fit Philips 150 posh bulbs, then you will "see the light" and be legal. !!
