I have got all the strap bolts out and can move the drivers side of the 2 chassis bolts, but not much luck yet on the passenger side, how do i remove the filler?, i have the clips loose and can move the flexy hose but i guess the filler needs to come out but i dont see any fixings and it doesnt seem to want to move.
Secondly, do i need to cut out the sealent where the fuel pipe comes through the body to the pump or should there be enough slack there to let me pull the tank back enough to get to the chassis bolts?
Thanks
Paul

The rubber goose neck will come off the filler cap fitting with it still in place. Bit of a squeeze but it comes off.
If it was me I would drain the tank and remove it from the car completely. When I did my body lift and removed the tank, the fuel supply pipe was in poor condition and the clip securing it on to the tank connection was corroded.

I don't appear to have any wriggle room to remove the fleecy section, maybe I have to remove the tank and try and twist the tank out from under it?, does the outlet pipe from the tank go straight through the chassis as in the picture below?, if so I guess I need to cut all that sealant out first.

As said above, you'd be wise to remove the tank completely. So get in the n/s wheel arch, undo the pipe that feeds the pump and drain.
Then you can remove the swan neck metal pipe extension that allows the route to clear the lower wishbone tube. Then cut out all that silicone crap. It'll need to be re done anyway.
With the outlet free to move out can ease it out from the bottom and away towards you. Then tilt up on the other side (o/s) to allow the tank neck to pop out of the filler neck pipe. The actual filler hole/cap assy doesn't have to be removed at this point.

Don't forget about the return pipe on the o/s too.

One other thing. I don't know how many people are aware of this, but there is a filter [i]inside[i/] the fuel tank.
You have to undo the 52mm nut that is the outlet at the bottom. I changed mine as I'd had some welding done to the baffles and it caught a lot of swarf. But I didn't even realise there was one in there before I undid it.

No. Flimsy. Buy a new one if needed.
