IS IT OR ISNT IT!!! THAT IS THE QUESTION

i have a 1993 and was told by previous owner that it was a HC engine.....it has sticker on plenum,but reading the bible(yes i now have a copy and wont be asking silly questions again youll all b glad to know)anyway bible says HC didnt come in till 1994....is he pulling a fast one or has anyone else heard of a 1993 with HC,just wondered.
ps just saw a tuscan yesterday parked up in my town(yes i own the town!!!),its put me off my chim...I WANT A TUSCAN!!!......can someone lend me the money ...i willpay it back...honest!

I wouldn't mind itchy nuts if it meant having a tuscan.
Our land transport won't allow them here,or any new TVR for that matter.

..to the original question, the bible is a bit of a "guide" in some areas such as this as info from TVR is a bit vague at best at times. Also there is the possibility that someone dropped in a 4.0HC after 1993 if the original 4.0 went South one day.

i have no record in my file of bills to say has had new engine but just wondered if anyone else has seen or had a 1993 with a hc as original as im not sure i believe it is.....i think someone just put the sticker there!!!

HarryW has a 94 registered V8S that has an HC engine which does support the HC in 94 statement. Certainly all the docs indicate that. If your car was a very late 93 then it could be one of the first as the changeover's are quite blurred.

Equally those badges are cheap to buy...

Would they know if i contacted hq in blackpool,do they keep old records??it is a dec 1993 chim,would i know the difference if i drove a hc/non hc or is too minimal to tell.

If it is a Dec 93 car then it could well be kosher. TVR Power supplied the engines and should have the details. They will need engine and chassis number.

Difficult to tell from driving. You could strip the engine and measure the cam profiles... Talk to TVR Power.
