Stalling at Idle...Odd fix

I've used Shell Optimax since it was first available. Recently my Chim has cut out often at idle when hot or after a little thrash. Pull over for ten minutes then its OK for a while.

Today I filled up with BP Ultimate. What a difference. No problems with idle and better running.

Anyone else experienced similar?

dont know if this is tru and whether it would effect what you are describing but someone on here the other day was saying that there are doubts as to the consistancy of the octane level of opitmax.
Only writing what I heard before anyone gives me a bashing over this comment

From what i understand, a lot of people prefer Optimax to BP Ultimate (including me), but it seems that Optimax is more sensitive to being "fresh".

If you buy your Optimax from somewhere that doesn't sell a lot of it, chances are the quality won't be so good cos it might have been a few days/weeks since the tank was replenished.

If you buy your optimax from the shell garage down the road from your local TVR dealer, chances are the stuff is pretty fresh...

Well, I use to sacrifice a goat in the boot and dance naked around the car at full moon - no more stalling
