Can the late Lamp covers be made to fit

Earlier cars. Did not like them originally but grown on me - could they be made to fit?

It can be done, but its a BIG job.

There are no surrounds on the late Chims so they would have to go and you would have to glass in the holders for the 2001 lights which are slightly different.

The covers are also swines to get hold of. I had a 2001 and it took 3 weeks to get one when some bint reversed into me.

Zertec were working on it. I bet it reduces drag quite a lot...

Ito took me 2.5 months to get a lamp cowl - then it was the wrong side! I bet zertec will charge silly dosh.

I'd like to get hold of one and have a go, one cowl off and cracked light on otherside - not top of prioities but would be good - Podie - get a Chim pic on your page!

Are Zertec still going ?. I also have an earlier Chim and think the fared in headlights look good. I contacted TVR Body Shop to have the conversion done and if I remember correctly they quoted £1,500. At that sort of cost, I'll wait until have a frontal and then get it done.

What are you working on then Podie as I may also be interested ?. What sort of costs are you looking to split ?

Jesus - I think I'll concentrate on making Cerbera's look slow. Starting to look like hassle I could do without at the moment.

I'm interested in this but not at the cost of a whole new front end so if anyone is planning an alternative method I'd love to know about it.

I've just started making moulds for these today and will be mocking them up in a clear polyester to see if I like them.
Trouble is, you will have to break the seal if you ever want to get the lamp holder out(unlikely)
Secondly the apperture will need a 10 mm fibreglass lip to give the new cowling a sufficient sealent bed.
