I'd have thought there's so much fuel in there there's little opportunity for corrosion to form, that and the fact fuels flowing along the rail constantly,,,, unless it's stood for long periods I suppose.
When you shut the engine down does fuel stay pressured along the fuel rail or does it drain back?

Some pumps have a non return valve then there is the regulator. I doubt either of those have a perfect seal so the rail will loose pressure but should not 'drain back' as such.Steve
Ok, so if the rail is full of fuel we seem to be thinking that there’s no problem…
This has got me thinking a little more…
We are reliant on the fuel filter catching everything at the rear of the car but given the potential age of the pipes between the filter and the injector rail shouldn’t we be thinking of using a further inline filter just before the pressure regulator and rail to catch any unwanted crud before entering the injectors?
Belt and Braces!
Anyone done this or have any thoughts?

t in the fuel but recently am convinced carb jets would be worse off.
