Fitting new carpets

i am in the process of buying some new carpets from coverdale for my chim.

I was wondering if anybody knew where i could get them fitted as i dont fancy bodging the job myself

Are they pre-cut? I reckon it wouldn't be that difficult really.

Nothings difficult until you do it :-) then everything has its difficulties.

Replace carpets, find rusty fittings (clean & paint), find frayed cables (repair), find cracking in seat mount points (rebond & re-inforce), when finally discovering main chassis earth improve design.......

I'm all in favour of doing things yourself, but the main advantage is that you can take your time & sort out everything you see as you go... Eyes wide open & all that if you undertake these things.

I've got my coverdale set sat in the shed, it arrived last week. Having got it all out and had a good look at it I'm very pleased overall with the workmanship, I'll be fitting mine myself in the next week or three. Will provide photo's etc of the install in due course

I did mine myself. Bought the carpets and got stuck in.

It took longer than I expected but the feeling of satisfaction was worth it.

My top tip for anyone doing this with Coverdale carpets is to check you have the pieces for the door. They told me they don't include them in the set.

I have nothing but admiration for you guys that do these things yourself.

Week 1 – I can do it.

Week 2 - have doubts.

Week 3 - bigger doubts.

Week 4 - carpets turn up – Mr carpet man, can you fit these for me?

Week 5 - Ta. Here’s the money I owe you.

Honestly, if you don't try how will you know?

I wouldn't dream of pulling the engine apart but something like carpet is safe. If the worst happens and you have to get someone in to finish it off, so what?

But if you do it yourself and it's done well you save money and appreciate it so much more. The only way to learn is try.
