RV8 Tuscon Racers - how different?
Discussion
Just sitting at work contemplating yet another career change, when the idea of the old RV8 Tuscon race cars went through my head and I wondered how different their 4.5 ltr engines were to my chim 450...how did they produce 340bhp + from them, or was this just further massaging the power outputs as they did the road cars?
I don't think it was hugely difficult, everything is a compromise... you'd be sacrificing low speed drive-ability for top end power, It might go like stink on track where you're constantly keeping the engine within a high rev range, but it'd be a complete arse to drive on the road.. probably....
Just my opinion based on my limited knowledge and lack of understanding of most things

Yes a bit of massaging......different crank, rods, pistons and cam......and they went bang frequently !
