Whilst getting ready to refit the dashboard I stupidly hoovered up end of a ribbon cable! Having retrieved the end from within the hoover can anyone recommend a repair method so I can reattach it please?
Not worth the effort just buy a new one. TVR parts and possibly others want about £6 for them but a search on Ebay should find you one for less than that.

Agreed - I had my lights ribbon chewed by mice and tried to make up a new one via a trip to Maplins. Then someone told me how cheap the originals were and I stopped and bought one.
